Restored Sattva embodies the essence of purposeful living, effortlessly steering clear of the pressure to be everything to everyone all the time. Here, we don't conform to the expectations of constant online presence or the chaos of busy digital spaces. Instead, we cherish intentional and meaningful engagements that truly matter. This philosophy of cherishing intentionality extends beyond our virtual realms — it's an encouraging whisper to curate your own life, to be unapologetically selective, and to find fulfillment in depth rather than breadth. It's about navigating life's tapestry with grace, recognizing that genuine connection transcends the need for omnipresence.

My mission is to inspire faith and fortitude within myself, and I hope this inspires faith and fortitude to those who know me and to those who come to know of me.

- Kari Prabhakar

My roots run deep as a mother, wife and keeper of the home. Having a family of my own is all I ever wanted, and I was blessed beyond measure when I married a Christian man from India at 22 and had our first son a year later; a wildly handsome, smart and fun-loving boy. Having later been blessed with two beautiful, smart, creative and healthy girls, my life continuously whispered the reminders of God’s loving presence in my life. While not easy, I have found rearing my children, homeschooling them, and creating a loving home to be the most fantastic opportunity in this entire life. Home is a place where we should feel safe, a place where we should feel belonging, where we grow individually and together, where we gain the courage to go out into the world and create something beyond ourselves. Yet, I know all too well, that not everyone will know of a home like this. Next to this role I have in life, I find the next greatest thing is the ability and the opportunity I have been given to create Restored Sattva, for woman and youth who need someone to speak into their life and pull them up out of the miry clay. Miry clay is a biblical symbolism. It is the difficult place where we feel stuck as though there was no escape.

Growing up below the poverty line in upstate, NY, I learned quickly that life will be created for you if you don’t actively create it. Naturally, I became a multifaceted, self-driven, and autonomous individual. Growing up with a single mom who was formally diagnosed with clinical depression and bipolar disorder, my sister and I had to grow up fast, often having to fend for ourselves when it came to school and food and entertainment. Having worked since I was 15, and living in a chaotic, often lonely and confusing home, I couldn’t wait to have a family and a home of my own. I have always been engaged in various pursuits in my adult life. Extending beyond my passion for family and writing projects, I conceived Restored Sattva out of the deep pit within me that held pain that begged to be used. My youth and my adult life haven’t always proved mentally or physically easy. I experienced things as a child that children shouldn’t have to experience. As a young adult I struggle incredibly with depression, chronic body pain and heightened sensory and tactile sensitivities. Yet, losing my precious mother to suicide when I was 26, was the ultimate blow. I learned quickly that to live a victim mentality is to not be living at all. Think about what LIFE means. It is oxygen, it is breathe, but it is so much more. Life is meant to be felt. Life is meant to be experienced. Life is the experience, requiring immense bravery.

I have been fortunate enough to have travelled many times to India and cook alongside my mother-in-law and woman servants. I take this kitchen experience and my cultural experience, having been a part of an Indian family for more than 13 years, and I take these memories, holding them within my heart. It is all a part of what I offer here at Restored Sattva, alongside walking with Jesus as a Christian for more than 15 years. I have done a lot of soul searching and soul healing work over this period of time. It is the inner determination fueled by the grace of God that has allowed me to accomplish all that I have amidst my personal struggles. It is because of my own walking through fire that I know the possibility of overcoming and I aim to express this hope through my writings. I love to spend time on the inner workings of Restored Sattva, and I love to conceptualize and strategize new business and product ventures. I strongly believe in the importance of finding things that make you feel alive and to do them often. My lifelong pursuit to feel good in life, having grown up with debilitating stomach aches, continuously drives my passion for deepening my understanding of the factors behind health and illness. I bring a wealth of discipline and knowledge that has allowed me the joy of creating Restored Sattva. Becoming an Ayurvedic Practitioner has allowed me to create a healing place for myself, my family, and other women, mothers, and youth who seek to elevate themselves beyond what they can currently see. My need to purposefully use the pains of my past and personal health challenges led me to study nutrition science along with Ayurveda’s mind-body natural healing science and to create Restored Sattva as a portal for hope and growth. Here, I write healing articles, inspirational books, offer products, and online wellness consultations to inspire faith, hope and fortitude. It is my purpose here to help women restore wholeness within. Restored Sattva - Restored Wholeness. One of my favorite and most inspirational quotes comes from Jack Lalane who said, “I want to help people help themselves,” and that is my heart here at Restored Sattva.
