Healing Touch

/Healing touch
To lay our hands on another human, is more than just touching another human, it is touching a spirit. A spirit that is eternal and filled to the brim with potential. As we lay our hands on another, we have the opportunity to close our eyes, draw God’s love, goodness, and healing abilities, draw it from within ourselves, and let it touch the other person. Touch is more mental and emotional then it is physical. Touch makes us feel comforted, loved, seen, heard, and accepted. In my home, we have a lot of healing touch. I’ve taught my children what it means to offer healing touches and we practice it on one another like here in this photo where my son needed mama’s touch to support his body, with oil after a long day of soccer. We call it, “healing touch.” When my daughter plays with my hair or does my makeup or paints my nails, she is offering to me her healing essence of life. When my son teases me and wrestles my head to the ground, even then I feel his healing touch. When we take the time to hug or kiss one another hello and goodbye, we offer a little bit of that healing. When we gently brush a finger against another’s even if serving them tea, there is healing in this touch, especially if these persons share a commonality of love, trust and understanding. I love to sit and heal. I love rising up and evolving my soul, guiding others into self-healing by reminding them of their unique personhood and eternal spirit. And as I am continually being healed by THE ultimate healer, Jesus Christ, I’ve that much more stability to guide others towards the same empowering light. I believe in the healer in all of us; the ability to self-heal, offering healing voices and healing touches to those around us. It only requires us to recognize this quality within ourselves and create the opportunities of this selfless love. I receive this divine healing every day, and by doing so I’m able to be a support to others to do the same, through not only my touch, but by the grace of my speech and by offering my attention to the little child that is inside all of us. - Kari
