Creating Your Own Definition of Health
I am creating my own definition of health.
Who said health had to always be star bright?
A never ending, stream lined energy?
A continual passion?
When what I want is to feel the ups and downs of life. It’s the ups and downs that give purpose to the mission. Both rain and sun are required for health. Why should my health be any different?
Who said health had to be skinny when all I want is to love my body for all the incredible things it has done?
How this earthen body has created and grown and nurtured three human beings?
These worn hands working day and night on daily humble tasks that make a family and a home.
These feet, this back, these eyes that have worked tirelessly to sustain my own life and the life of others.
There was a time when I may have wanted to keep up with the young bee bops but I welcome the inner change of age and want to listen to the whisper of desire to simply walk slowly by the lakeside enjoying the gift of being alive and not worrying if my tummy is a little bigger in my dress.
It’s time we stopped and thought about this.
If health means no pain, then I may never be healthy, because this body may never stop paining.
But if health means feeling, then health is within reach for each and every one of us.
Feeling good mentally should not be dependent on how you feel physically. It affects it, for sure and without a doubt, but we can change that. If even for some moments.
Feeling bliss inside - having a sure and true reason for living and all the joys and sorrows in betweens. This makes it worth fighting. Then I’m on my road, you also are on your road, to health!
And while we feel we’re on the road of health, why not keep going? For the moment you think you’ll never attain health, surely you’ll be right and want to stop even trying.
It’s time to redefine health - for yourself, for your family, for your friends .
